Annual Euclides Meeting 2024 in Dortmund

The Euclides Annual Meeting took place on 16th and 17th of May 2024. The Dortmund University of Applied Sciences, which joined the Euclides network in summer 2023, invited all partner universities to Dortmund and hosted the meeting. The Euclides network consists of 23 partner universities from 9 different European countries. A total of 45 participants from 13 universities and 6 countries took part.

Two exciting and fruitful days had great program that covers different important aspects such as “BIP Experiences and Future Planning” and “Administrative Coordination and Cultural Exchange”.

During the first Meeting day the session on Erasmus+ BIP experiences took place, which included a historical review of previous “Intensive Programmes” as well as feedback on this year’s BIPs in VR/AR and Automotive Systems. Also, all participants had the opportunity to get to know each other and present their feedback on completed and newly planned BIPs. This session was focused on an intensive exchange of experiences and the presentation of new BIP applications by the Euclides Network. In addition, the dates and locations for the block weeks for students and the annual network meeting next year were determined:

  • 17th – 21st of March 2025 – the joint BIP Block Weeks 2025
  • 15th and 16th of May 2025 – Euclides Annual Meeting 2025

The second day began with a session on administrative arrangements concerning BIPs. The International Office of the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts presented the university’s BIP processes, followed by group work discussing various questions and topics. These included procedures at participating universities, funding situations, experiences with BIPs@Home, best-practice tips for other universities, and the optimal timing for data entry into the BM tool. The session included the presentation of results, followed by a final discussion and brainstorming on ideal BIP processes.

The Euclides Annual Meeting 2024 provided a valuable platform for exchanging experiences and planning future Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs). The event promoted collaboration among the various institutions, enabling participants to establish new partnerships and develop innovative approaches to organizing and conducting BIPs. Particularly noteworthy were the diverse feedback on past programs and the comprehensive discussions on optimizing administrative processes.

The discussions led to deeper organizational and cooperation agreements and the establishment of joint activities. The combination of formal presentations, interactive group work, and informal networking opportunities created a productive and cooperative atmosphere, serving as a foundation for future successful BIP initiatives. The event concluded with a cultural highlight and a joint lunch, further connecting the participants and fostering exchanges in a relaxed setting.
