International Summer Convention 2025 at FH Dortmund Brings Together 140 Participants from 35 Institutions and 16 countries
From 25 to 29 August 2025, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts proudly hosted again the International Summer Convention 2025. The event brought 140 representatives from 35 universities and institutions across Europe and far beyond to Dortmund, making the city a true meeting point for global academic exchange. Among the participants, there were many familiar faces, university and project partners and also new participants who was encouraged to visit the ISC in Dortmund.

The convention offered a rich and varied program that combined academic depth with practical training and institutional collaboration. Participants engaged in intercultural training, attended research presentations, and took part in workshops on cross-border projects as well as on processes in the International Office. The schedule also included specialized “Train the Trainer” courses, a dynamic poster session that showcased research projects from a wide range of disciplines, and a lively two-minute presentation session in which every university and organization had the chance to introduce itself. In addition, a series of focused project meetings provided a platform to strengthen international cooperation and plan future initiatives.

Equally memorable was the social program, designed to foster connections in an informal and inspiring atmosphere. Participants enjoyed a visit to the Borussia Dortmund stadium, a convivial barbecue, and a festive event dinner – all of which provided valuable opportunities to deepen professional and personal networks.

The event is held with the support of such projects and strategic partnerships as Erasmus+ KA220-HED NomadTrail, DAAD SusProLab, DAAD InduTwin@Scale, DAAD UA4PIM, Erasmus+ CBHE CompIIT, Erasmus+ KA171 and DAAD Eastern Partnership, and was for free for all the participants.
The International Summer Convention 2025 not only reinforced FH Dortmund’s position as a hub for international collaboration, but also set the stage for new partnerships, innovative projects, and lasting friendships across borders.
