The spring semester marks the start of a new edition of the long‑term cross‑border innovation project as part of the Erasmus+ NomadTrail project. It brings together students from EHU/UPV, FH Dortmund, and KU Leuven to collaborate on a joint digital initiative.
The international teams began working together on 23rd of February 2026 and will continue their virtual cooperation until May 2026. In March, students will meet in person during a one‑week physical mobility period, giving them the opportunity to refine their ideas, strengthen team dynamics, and advance their project work.
This year’s theme, “Energy and Energy Usage,” focuses on the rapidly evolving landscape of global energy consumption. Developments such as AI, increasing electrification, and uncertainties in energy supply pose new challenges and call for creative and sustainable solutions.
Within the project, students will design and develop a game application that immerses players in these issues, encouraging them to explore challenges and identify innovative responses to complex energy questions.

Working as a distributed virtual team, navigating intercultural collaboration, and tackling a demanding assignment will equip students with essential skills for an increasingly globalised and digitalised future.
