On 15th of May 2024, when the Astana IT University has celebrated their 5 years anniversary, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FH Dortmund) had an honor to sign a double-degree agreement. This milestone enables students of Master Digital Transformation at FH Dortmund and the Master Computer Science & Engineering at Astana IT University, to get a double degree after fulfilling certain requirements. During the signing ceremony, the Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Serik Omirbayev has highlighted, that although the Astana IT University is very young, it has achieved several important academic, research and scientific goals, what made it a very attractive Higher Education Institution in the region of Central Asia.

At the end of the ceremony, the double degree agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Serik Omirbayev, the Acting Rector of Astana IT University and Prof. Dr. Stephan Weyers, Academic Vice Rector of FH Dortmund. This new milestone opens the doors to new endeavors connecting Eastern and Western worlds of research and academia.
