On February 19th, 2024 the journal paper “Taxonomy of competence models based on an integrative literature review” co-authored by Nargiza Mikhridinova, Carsten Wolff and Wim Van Petegem, was published by Springer Nature journal “Education and Information Technologies”. The Q1 journal has currently the Impact Factor of 5.5, and covers complex relationships between information and communication technologies and education. The paper on taxonomy of competence models represents results of a recently conducted study, lasting for ca. 8 months.
The study uses integrative literature review method and focuses on a classification of competence models in a form of taxonomy. 24 formally captured competence models were derived from 3029 relevant scientific sources, a working definition of competence framework and model concepts was derived from philosophy of science, and based on that, a taxonomy of competence models was elaborated from relevant characteristics. Since the method can by applied for studies dealing with ambiguous terminology, the talk was delivered to researchers on the methodology behind integrative literature review and taxonomy development at the international PRACtESE Symposium on February 20th, 2024.
This study is devoted to the topic of digital representation of individual competence profiles and how those can be operationalized, which corresponds to the research focus of “Competences and Digital Transformation” within Erasmus+ KA2 „ProDiT“ Project.
