Kick-off Meeting for DAAD UA4PIM Project

On 25th of August 2025, the kick-off meeting for the new project “Project and Innovation Management for Ukraine” (UA4PIM) took place. The initiative is funded by the DAAD within the framework of the German-Ukrainian University Network (2025–2029) and brings together partners from Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FH Dortmund) and three Ukrainian universities:

  • National University “Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic” (NUZP)
  • Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA)
  • West Ukrainian National University (WUNU) in Ternopil

FH Dortmund’s Rector, Prof. Tamara Appel, opened the meeting with a welcoming address highlighting the importance of strengthening academic networks and supporting Ukrainian scholars. Vice Rector for Teaching, Prof. Dr. Stephan Weyers, also welcomed the participants.

The project coordinator, Prof. Carsten Wolff from the IDiAL Institute at FH Dortmund, presented the project’s objectives, financial framework, budget structure, and timeline. He also introduced the key milestones and guided discussions on the work plan as well as roles and responsibilities within the consortium.

Another topic was the expansion of double degree agreements and the integration of curricula between Ukrainian and EU institutions. Notably, the two existing double degree agreements with Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA) and West Ukrainian National University (WUNU) were renewed earlier this year.
