The Train-the-Trainer event at the International Summer Convention (ISC) 2024 took place from 26th till 30th of August at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FH Dortmund) in Germany. This gathering brought together educators, trainers, and researchers from around the world to share ideas and build global partnerships in education. With a diverse program featuring workshops, research talks, and meetings, the event was designed for teachers, lecturers, trainers, and academic staff involved in international projects beyond FH Dortmund.
Key topics included intercultural training aimed at enhancing understanding and teamwork among participants. Attendees also presented their research projects, fostering an exchange of knowledge and ideas. The event featured workshops focused on project-based learning with international students, as well as sessions sharing best practices for applying for and managing international projects.
Additionally, the consortium meeting of the Erasmus+ ProDiT project also took place within this event and was led by Carsten Wolff from FH Dortmund. This meeting also included representatives from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), KU Leuven (KUL), and Kaunas University of Technology (KTU). The Project Methods Handbook development was discussed, which aims to outline a progression from individual educational resources to comprehensive higher education institution (HEI) projects, providing valuable guidance for future initiatives.
The event also featured a Welcome Ceremony showcasing current international projects. Peter Arras (KUL) presented the Erasmus+ ProDiT project, detailing its goals, partners, and outcomes. He described the project’s topics which focus on developing a common competence model for digital transformation, a maturity model for organizational development, and a sustainability canvas to achieve the project’s intended impact. Additionally, it was explained the concept of a cross-border virtual Master and PhD School to be linked to corporate training programs.
Overall, ISC 2024 created an environment conducive to networking and knowledge sharing, reinforcing the importance of international cooperation in higher education. This collaborative spirit is essential for fostering innovative educational practices and establishing strong global partnerships.
