The Erasmus+ NomadTrail – Virtual Projects for European Digital Natives project was introduced at the International Summer Convention (ISC 2024) 2024, held from August 26 to 30 at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FH Dortmund) in Germany. Elena Vitkauskaitė from Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) explained the project’s goal: to prepare students for a digital, globalized, and project-oriented work environment by enhancing their project management skills, international communication abilities, and entrepreneurial mindset.
The Erasmus+ NomadTrail project, launched in December 2023, aims to transform students, already familiar with digital tools, into “digital nomads,” capable of working flexibly from any location. The project prepares them to succeed in cross-border, agile innovation projects, equipping them with the digital literacy needed for careers in IT, technology, and business. It also seeks to integrate these students and educators into European competence networks like EuroPIM.
Led by a consortium that includes the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FH Dortmund), University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL), Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Erasmus+ NomadTrail connects students with companies for virtual innovation projects. This collaboration fosters industry-university partnerships and supports entrepreneurship through hands-on, interdisciplinary student-led projects.
The presentation at ISC 2024 increased the visibility of Erasmus+ NomadTrail, showcasing its potential to boost international cooperation, promote entrepreneurship, and advance project-based learning in higher education.
