Block Week “Advanced Interaction Techniques” 2017
April 1, 2017 - April 8, 2017
Students from FH Dortmund, FH Krems and KTU Kaunas from different study programmes like Marketing, Economics, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, and Mechanical Engineering came together for this Project Week at KTU, Kaunas.
The participants were divided into four groups to work on projects about Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, for which they designed and developed their own applications. The main goal was to use modern technology to advertise Kaunas as the European Capital of Culture 2022 (http://kaunas2022.eu/en/). At the end of the week the students were invited to present their projects to their fellow students, professors, the municipality and representatives from tech companies. After receiving very positive feedback, a couple of project teams decided to stay in contact to finalize their projects.
The intercultural and interdisciplinary environment gave the students a first insight into their future working environment. Besides working the students also had the possibility to get to know Lithuania, Kaunas and Vilnius during different social events. Inspired by this week, some students decided to include a semester abroad into their academic curriculum.
During the Blockweek the participating lecturers took the chance to come together for further planning of the International Week at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Dortmund, during which they will present their ongoing research projects. The event was a good occasion to continue strengthening the academic partnerships within the DAAD EuroPIM consortium.
